Kate, Diane, Ron Stiles. Ron and I became friends in 1978 when I moved to Caribou County and became a Deputy Sheriff. Ron was a search and rescue member and reserve and we patrolled the county a lot back in those days of the late 70's and early 80's. Ron was a dry farmer and was quite successful at it. He is now retired and their daughter Kate is Married. Ron and Diane have a 5th Wheel travel trailer and Diesel pickup and they travel the northwest often. They winter in Misquete, Nevada. The are some of my dearest friends, and we talk often and when they come home we always get together and talk and have dinner. I sure miss the daily contact with them we once had. Ron and his wife Diane are very special people to me, I cherish them deeply.Posted by Picasa

Les and Ed Cameron. These two men are some of the best human beings on planet earth, They are about 10 and 12 years older than me, our parents were dear friends. Their dad had a welding and machine shop in my hometown of Bellevue and the two boys still run the business.
When I was a young child Opal Cameron the mother of these two men used to baby sit me when my mother drove school bus. Opal was one of my favorite people, I had the opportunity to visit with her in the winter or early spring of 2007 and we had such a good time remembering old times and the fun we all shared. Three weeks later, Les called me and informed me his mother had passed. I went to the funeral and I sure was glad I got to talk to he not long before. I took this photo at my mothers funeral in 2002, and then attended their mothers funeral in 2007. Ed and Les remain some of my longest dearest friends in the world, there are few people I respect and think so highly of that I've known. God bless you and your families Ed and Les.Posted by Picasa

Earl and Gary. Earl Gilette is now 90 years old, he and his wife and my parents all knew one another when they were young in Castleford, Idaho. My dad had a Harley Davidson motorcycle and sidecar when he arrived in Idaho from his home state of Missouri. Earl rode my dads motorcycle back then and swore one day he would own one. When Earl was in his 40's and living in Twin Falls he bought his first Harley Davidson, he rode them for years, many of them, even had a woman from a church parking lot come out and run over him once when he was 50 or 60 something and he got back on and rode some more after he healed up. Earl and his wife Jackie also lived in the Hailey area about 4 miles from my parents in Bellevue, Idaho so my parents and them were life long friends. My dad and Earl built Earl's dad a cabin on Broadford road and I believe it is still standing. I was a paul bear at Jackie's funeral several years ago and this photo of us was taken in Twin Falls in 2006, I saw Earl in the spring of 2007 and at 90 years of age he was out tuning up his Honda 90 to ride it, still riding a motorcycle at 90 years of age, how wonderful he is so healthy. My hat is off to you Unk. I always called Earl Unk short for uncle he was at the hospital when I was born and he claims to have heard me cry the first time. Posted by Picasa

Jerry Bavaro and Marc Arms. This was a Christmas party for the Caribou County Sheriff's Office in about 2005. There is a funny story behind this photo! Jerry is a retired Lieutenant of the Soda Springs Police Department and Marc is a Fish and Game Detective for the State of Idaho. Jerry and I have been friends since 1978 the year he started working for the Soda Springs Police Department and the year I began for the Caribou County Sheriff's Office. Jerry is divorced and so am I, and over the years he and I have gone to the show in Pocatello many times and then had a nice dinner. He is fun to be with, has a wonderful sense of humor and he actually puts up with me and my warped sense of humor. Anyway over the years the people on his department and on mine teased him and I about going on dates. Well Jerry and I couldn't be more straight, and for that reason it is a funny joke, so to explain this photo, as I entered the room that night, I saw Jerry and Marc sitting next to one another and I said loudly as I always do, well you are a damed two timer Jerry! So Marc real quick put his arm around Jerry and Jerry flipped the bird, his trademark and I shot the photo, we laughed our ass off and so did everyone in the room paying attention knowing how they had all teased Jerry and I over the years. So the photo was funny for the reason behind it. Jerry is still a very dear friend and Marc now lives in Pocatello. Posted by Picasa
